10-Day Pledge: Day 9

This is the first day that I have had major cravings. I would really love to have a Belgian waffle with butter and maple syrup. A slice of pizza with mushrooms, arugula, tomato and fresh mozzarella would also be amazing.

I have been feeling a little irritable the past few days. Everything annoys me. But I’m not convincedĀ it’s the food I have been and haven’t been eating.

Last night I realized something. I can have a Belgian waffle and I can have a slice of pizza. I just have to make them from scratch (and with whole wheat flour). I’ve been a bit lazy with my cooking this week. My meals have consisted mostly of veggies because they are easy to prepare. But I’m getting a little veggie’d out. My stomach is also not loving the abundance of veggies in my diet.

I need to change things up a bit.

On Day 9 I had a picnic with my six-year old niece. I made her a PB&J using whole wheat bread, natural peanut butter and homemade strawberry jam. I had some leftovers and we both ate raw veggies and fruit.

And she poses with food the same way I do!!! Love it!

Here’s what I ate on Day 9:

8 a.m. - steel cut oats, chia seeds, flax seeds, blueberries, walnuts, 1 tsp. honey; iced coffee, black

11 a.m. - cashews

1 p.m. - leftover veggie lentil salad, raw broccoli and cauliflower, cantaloupe and watermelon

3 p.m. - banana “ice cream” with natural peanut butter

7 p.m. - zucchini and carrot noodles, red peppers, orange peppers, onion, baby bella mushrooms and feta; green beans; grilled chicken breast

8:30 p.m. - apple with natural peanut butter
